Caveman Chess

Caveman Chess is "Chess without finesse."

FIDE Master Kevin L. Bachler was nicknamed "Caveman" in 1981 when National Master Albert Chow described his play as "stone age chess", and said "You play like a caveman." Certainly, many of Kevin's games illustrate a creative flair of tactical chess. Since that nickname in 1981 the phrase "caveman chess" has nearly become a standard chess term, describing an attacking style.

Teaching

Caveman Chess ^{^TM} is growing. Kevin L. Bachler -- CAVEMAN -- is nationally recognized as an excellent chess teacher. Kevin has taught both adults and juniors, and in the past few years has focused on junior chess. His individual and group students have been among the most impressive scholastic teams in the country. Consider these accomplishments by Caveman's students in the past eight years:

	Six individual state champions
	Six state championship teams
	Two major national championship teams
	Often a top 10 team in national competition

	Winners of 1998 7th grade national championship
	A streak of team in 22 consecutive Illinois/Indiana chess tournaments
	High school team went 27-1 in matches in 2002

Caveman emphasizes quality, and provides his teaching expertise only to a select audience.

Camps

We will be running the WisChess camp again this year. Last year was our first for running this camp, and it received very favorable reviews.

Our Mission

We provide unique and professional chess instruction, tournaments, and related chess services and chess equipment to adults and youth.

We are developing a professional organization to host quality chess tournaments, to develop training materials, to provide chess instructors, and to develop a unique brand of chess clothing and chess equipment. Other chess organizations have set similar goals; we provide unique value and professionalism.

Caveman Chess Incorporated ^{^TM} is a new company formed by experienced chess players and chess teachers. We provide value to our customers through a professional approach that is unique in chess due to its strong client focus and its preparation.

Scholastic Chess

Caveman Chess ^{^TM} has in the past devoted a great deal of time to scholastic chess in Park Ridge, Illinois. Teams trained by Caveman are of a national caliber.
