We accept entries via online registration only, to simplify registration and start on time. Please include your email and cell phone number in your registration. They will assist with any urgent communication.

Be sure to read our COVID policies and our Terms and Conditions, see the left-hand menu. Currently, the State of Illinois requires masks at events, with no exceptions. Cook County requires vaccination cards for events that include food.

Timing: Refunds are paid within ten business days of the completion of the event (lesson, class, lesson or class series, camp, or tournament.) If possible, we will pay much sooner. However, when we get close to an event, the priorities shift to those attending the event.

This policy applies unless an event-specific policy is stated. We provide one of two refunds. Be sure to specify the refund type in your request.

Type 1: A credit of the full fee towards future tournaments or events, or

Type 2: A refund of the fee minus the greater of a 10% or $5 service charge. This charge is necessary because entries include processing fees that are not refunded to us, and time is involved in processing refunds.

Withdrawals

To withdraw from an event, go to https://cavechess.cc/withdraw and fill out the form. Emails will be ignored.

If you have any symptoms of coronavirus (fever, cough, shortness of breath, diminished sensory perception), please do not enter the tournament. We understand some conditions (allergies) can cause coughs. Just explain it at the time.

Suppose you withdraw after the start of an event. In that case, even if you have not participated, no refund is available since plans had been made for your participation, and related costs have potentially occurred.
